Kali-Linux installation using virtualbox

Setup

Download the iso file for kali-Linux. You can download it from here

Creating virtual machine

  • Open virtual box
  • Click on new
  • Select type as "linux" and version as "other linux(64-bit)"

  • Select ram 1.00 GB
  • Create virtual hard drieve -> vdi -> dynamic allocation -> 20GB

  • Now go to settings of the machine
  • Go to storage
  • Select empty, controller:IDE and choose iso file of kali linux
  • Click on ok

  • Now start the machine
  • Select install option using arrow keys and press enter

  • Now follow the instructions
  • After installation shutdown the virtual machine
  • Go to storage and remove the iso file
  • Now start the virtual machine
  • Then you can see login screen to kali-linux, login with username as "root"
